Now bokeh is the most calming and soothing photography according to me but others opinions may vary…. no fault there. Let me tell you what it is and how is it done in simple terms.
Bokeh is the blur produced due to out of focus parts of your image produced by the lens. It is effectively and efficiently done at night where you have a lot of individual light sources. For example: a street, a footpath, a garden, an event etc.
HOW IS IT DONE YOU SAY??….
Well, all you need is a tripod and your camera (DSLR) and of course your lens ( any lens may do but results may vary ). For non tripod owners dont worry…. there are a lot of ways you can also do bokeh without a tripod. The function of the tripod is to keep your camera EXTREMELY STILL. So you need to find a spot where your image has preferably at least 4 single light sources and you can keep your camera there no need to hold it just keep it at that spot.
Now, you wont be able to get the perfect shot in one go all’right you need to take some shots (dont start drinking because you will start seeing bokeh but your camera wont…).
PREFERRED SETTINGS : (ADJUSTABLE ACCORDING TO YOUR SITUATION)
What comes into play is the shutter speed. So switch your camera to SHUTTER PRIORITY MODE (Tv)
- shutter speed should be in the range of 3 to 7 seconds.
- exposure will be over to you but usually a 2 is advisable.
- ISO will be 3200 to 12800.
NOW I AM AGAIN TELLING YOU THAT ALL OF THE ABOVE MENTONED SETTINGS CAN CHANGE OR VARY ACCORDING TO YOU SCENARIO. SO GO ON EXPERIMENTING UNTIL YOU GET THE PERFECT SHOT.
THERE ARE MANY TYPES OF BOKEH…..i.e. YOU CAN GET MANY EFFECTS JUST BY USING HOMEMADE APPARATUS:
SO HOPED YOU LIKED IT. IF ANY DOUBTS FEEL FREE TO ASK IN THE COMMENTS. FEEL FREE TO SHARE AND LIKE.
